Pumpkin time

img_4467I got hit right between the eyes with a tremendous confirmation this week and I wanted to share it with you.  You know how we have been discussing Self-Love, Inner Happiness, etc.?  Well, this week I felt so blessed and overjoyed by preparing some Fall activities with my little people, that I had to share them with you.  Wanna see?

My sister-in-love (sister in law, she is so cute, that’s how she calls me) told us about a pumpkin patch nearby and we all decided to go to choose one with the little people.  Everyone got pretty excited to pick the pumpkin and we spent quite a while looking for the “perfect one”!

Well it was not long until we found it and we hauled it home quickly to carve it.

That is when the magic begun…

The kids were cooperating so well.  There was some type of unspoken agreement that we were going to make this a special time.  I got my little “gold nugget” right from the beginning: this is a memory-making time and we were going to get great joy from this.

img_4466Something as simple as carving a pumpkin and deciding what we were going to do together to make it all happen, was nothing less than pure joy.

We chose the template to cut out together, we took turns for each participant to enjoy the different parts of the activity, we laughed a lot while we did silly noises and compared the inside of the pumpkin to tripes, etc.  img_4468

There was nothing special about it, but there was everything special about it.  We were together and there was magic in it.

I hope you like the pictures I am sharing with you.  It all turned out quite well!

A few days later, my son told me (out of nowhere): “Mommy, I am still thinking often about us carving the pumpkin last weekend.  We had such a great time together that I will never forget it!”

img_4484That, my friends, is what it’s all about.  Keeping the positive times alive in our minds and hearts, and making them happen a priority.

We are not here on this earth for very long, so as a friend of mine says it: Make it count!
