What’s best for you
Do you know what today is??? It’s MeUnfinished’s 2nd anniversary!!! A new milestone under our belt: THANK YOU for your amazing support!!! We are ready to tackle the future and it looks quite interesting…
I will elaborate on it soon, but for now, I would like to share with you 3 lessons I have learned throughout the last two years that I hope can inspire you too. “Walk” with me for a moment, would you?
The other day I came upon the quote you see here, and it had such an impact on me that I had to share with others on my Instagram and Facebook. Well! I was not ready to see such a huge effect on so many people…. but understood why it was such a popular share.
It resonated well with my thoughts as MeUnfinished’s anniversary was coming up and my hope is to translate those thoughts into helpful life hints to you. I like to call those “gold nuggets.”
As I dissected this quote, I found some uncanny wisdom.
- Sometimes: I know, it’s only the first word, but yet very powerful. For some reason this just lept straight onto me. So many times we are enticed to tend to it all “right now” and 100% of the time. Do you feel like you have to DO IT ALL, and do it well every single time? If you are part OCD like me, this can make you somewhat mad/crazy… But follow me on this one: when you read the rest of the quote, you will see why “Sometimes” is so important. This means that you do not have to be present at every juncture. Take it easy and seek balance.
- You have to do what is best for you and your life: Goodness, that is such a difficult thing to do sometimes!!! I cannot tell you how I struggle with this one… This takes time, and effort, and pondering, and, and, and……. But the lesson I have learned through having created this blog has been that as much as I am dedicated to you, my readers, I have to take care of me too. I can preach it all I want, but if I am not living it, my words would be meaningless. So I have learned (and still am learnING) that sometimes I have to take the time for some white space. This does not diminish my burning passion to connect with you or anything else in my life, it simply helps me recharge to give the best of me. This takes time to sink in not only for my professional life, but also in my personal life. Check out some of the things you can do to see what it’s about. My hope is that you will be on the road to using it as often as you need it while still being efficient and on top of your game.
- Not what’s best for everybody else: That is where we usually fall, right? We are trying to please others we care about and love (ok, ok, the people who do not fit that category are also part of our scope here…), but have you thought about the fact that what is best for the others might not be best for you? Have you thought that people can provide you with THEIR solutions for you that are not necessary the right ones for you afterall? I know I am preaching good here! If they come back at you with grief, you can always tell them: “Sorry, I forgot to take my Perfect pill today” (borrowed from my buddy Pam).
It is not all about others or you. It is all about striking that ever-shifting balance between the two. As I celebrate my second year of motivating and inspiring others to live a fuller and more enjoyable life, I cannot help but to disclose to you that I too am on the continuum. Remember, we are in this together and we have to have each other’s back to make it through good and learning times.
So I share these gold nuggets with you, and invite you to celebrate our two years together. Always keep the Faith! Our journey is getting sweeter each time and I am expecting many more blessings to come our way.
