Woman, a tree phenomenon
It’s March and internationally, women are celebrated. I was thinking about this whole “celebrate women” thing and lots of different ideas things crossed my mind. As I got deeper into thoughts, it started to look to me like women were like… trees…
Wanna know how, huh!
Women are like trees because they have roots. Those roots are firm and run deep. They make sure to keep the soil in place to keep the area lush in landscaping. The roots look for nutrients and through them, the trees are fed and reach undeterminable heights.
The roots are strong and can lift up a house. They can break through concrete to reach where they need to go. Do you know any women who have those determined roots?
Women are like trees because they have trunks. Those trunks are strong and bold. They might be rugged, but they sustain life. From them come out limbs that reach far and beyond. The trunks are solid and resist high winds and rough rain.
Trunks sustain sleeping elephants and yes, also get struck and cut off. Later, from that same stump left to dry, starts new and abundant life. Have you ever seen a struck trunk bring out just one little branch at the stump? The tree “multiplies” and becomes stronger and bigger than it ever was before.
Have you been lucky enough to be around a woman who has endured life’s brutality, who was cut down, but came back up stronger and more resourceful?
Women are like trees because they have branches and leaves. Those branches, are resilient and forgive nature’s harshness. They let the wind caress them and dance to its tune. The leaves adorn their naked and brash bark, and even play amazing symphonies for all of nature to appreciate and enjoy.
The leaves make for an elaborate contraption that protects from Mother Nature’s eccentricities. Can you name a woman who envelops you with love, sings melodies of Calm and protects you from harm?
Finally, Women are like trees because they have flowers and fruits. In my short poem today, I did not elaborate much on this, but this is the part that appears to be the most appealing to the eye. Who does not like to dive into a succulent, juicy fruit? Who does not appreciate even the most simple of flowers?
The flowers adorn Mother Nature herself and God gave her an abundance of those gems in creating those jewels. Each woman is a gem and a creature of immeasurable beauty. Can you think of a woman whose eyes has shown you her soul, whose heart has overflowed with love and compassion, whose body has blossomed for you?
This is just a thought, one of many ways to look at women. Each woman is unique. Each one has in her an abundance of treasures.
And some still can’t see why celebrating Women should be a continuous affair…
